Leica limited-edition, 24 carat gold camera
Leica Gold camera
Leica likes to stand out in a crowd. They always find a way to be a little bit different than others. For instance their cameras with black matte finishes or the old school designs. For the commemoration of the People's Republic of China, Leica created a special 24-carat limited edition glod-plated camera. Leica will only produce 60 of this shiny show-off. The limited edition of 60 are all hallmarked with a year between 1949 and 2009. The Leica golden camera is encased in red calfskin, bears an inscription of Mao Zedong's favorite slogan, and has a Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 lens. Leica will even give you a nice wooden box to keep the camera in when you’re not using it. The downside is, if you don’t live in China that is, that it’s only available in main land China. This limited edition Leica camera will cost you $29,300 or 199,900 Chinese Yuan. If you can’t afford that why not buy a new camera and gold spray paint…same effect basically.
