Top 3 Phones
Nokia 97
The number three phone of 2009 is the Nokia 97. The most stand-out feature of the N97 is its full QWERTY keyboard, hidden behind a 3.5-inch wide screen 16:9 touch display that tilts smartly above the keys. The touchscreen promises to be exploited to full effect, even when inactive, thanks to a new home screen that automatically sucks in ‘live ‘information via custom widgets sat on a S60 5th Edition backbone. The N97 has a 32GB of on-board storage, double that of any mobile device currently in existence, and can take up to another 16GB via microSD, enabling it to become a portable multi-media computer with 48GB memory. Use this for music, movies, photos and N-Gage games or whatever you like. And an important point which should be kept in mind with multimedia mobile devices is the battery life. Nokia N97 promises to kick out up to 37 hours of music and 4.5 hours of video. Now that’s impressive!
HTC Hero
And our number two phone is the much talked about HTC Hero. Its official name is the T-Mobile G2 Touch and it’s a worthy alternative to the iPhone. Finally Android has created a great looking Android phone with a very special interface. The Hero uses ‘HTC Sense’ and is based on three principles: ‘make it Mine’, ‘Stay Close’ and ‘Discover the unexpected’. HTC's Sense software uses a single view to incorporate friends' Facebook status updates and photos, along with their Flickr photos alongside their text messages, emails and call history. The handset also comes with a 5MP camera, a gravity sensor, AGPS and 512 MB of memory with space for a 16Gb MicroSD card. The HTC Hero is available for $720. Finally an Android Phone not only for OS ‘geeks’ but also user-friendly for a broader audience.
iPhone 3GS
And the must have phone of 2009 is by far the iPhone 3GS. The new iPhone is a gadget you just can’t live without when you have it. The perfect combination of user friendliness, versatility and power was enough to convince us to give the iPhone the golden medal in this category. The camera is much better than its predecessor, with 3.2 megapixels, and you can even record videos with it. With a memory of 32 GB you have enough space to store all your favorite apps and games from the extensive appstore. The iPhone 3GS has absolutely reached the status of uberphone.
