Tesla Signature Edition Roadster: The veggie effect
Tommy is in London and about to venture on a new experience; the world of the Tesla electric car. Our idea about electric cars has always been a little bit vague. We look at electric cars like the Tesla and think: are we talking about the veggie burger effect? You know veggie burgers, they look the same as a real succulent beef burger but when you eat one, it takes away everything you’d expect.
So, this Tesla looks the part, but can it perform the same way as a sports car with a real combustion engine.

Tesla electric car versus a petrol car

Most electric vehicles operate under the assumption that driving is merely a necessary evil if you need to get someplace you can’t reach on foot or bike. The result has been cars that are designed, built, and marketed in ways that refuse to glorify driving.
Although the Tesla is expensive, it’ll only cost you 5 euro for a full tank of…electricity, and that will take you as far as 200 miles, depending on how you drive. The Tesla is incredibly fast, it goes from 0-60 mph in 3,9 seconds.

Tesla: The verdict
The best way to charge the Tesla is overnight, because with a normal household plug it‘d take you about 16 hours, but if you have the Tesla High power connector it charges in 3, 5 hours. Hopefully you’re not in the middle of nowhere when you run out of battery power… because then you’re really screwed…
Very few people would want a Tesla as their only car, but if they had two cars, it would be the one they were driving most of the time. And if you can afford to buy the thing in the first place, you can afford another car. Our verdict: Wannahaves approved!
