The PSP Go: reviewed

The PSP GO
Playstation released their new PSP, the PSP Go in October 2009. The first thing you notice is that the Go is significantly smaller that the original PSP. The biggest difference is that they removed the UMD drive and replaced it with 16 GB storage and a card slot. You don’t have to go to the shops anymore, but you can download games from the online store. We don’t know what you should do with your UMD’s, but try to be creative with them…

PSP GO: new casing

The PSP Go has a smaller 3’8 inch screen which slides up to reveal the D-pad, analogue nub and face buttons. It has the usual WiFi we are used to and the nice guys at Playstation added a BlueTooth feature as well. Playstation likes to think the PSP is going to compete with the Apple iPod touch. Always aim for the highest, right?

PSP GO: new games

When the PSP Go was introduced, they also threw in some new games. There is a new Metal Gear Solid, Little Big Planet, Jak & Daxter and the long awaited Gran Turismo. The display produces extremely crisp images and although the screen is slightly smaller, you don’t really notice that much of a difference. Newcomers will like the new PSP Go, but gamers already in possession of the PSP 3000 might not want to upgrade to the Go and throw their UMD’s in the bin.

Also take a look at Attuworld.
