Venetia Diamond Mine
The most famous mine in the world can be found in South-Africa nearby Musina. The biggest diamond producer in the world belongs to “De Beers Mines” and was founded in 1992. The biggest diamond ever found in the world was found in this mine. Winston is one of the lucky ones who gets to take a look inside this famous mine.



Diamonds in Venetia Mine
Working in a mine comes with a lot of dangerous situations. Winston takes his chances and heads 763 meters under the ground. Together with first mine officer “Lucky” he takes a look inside the mine. He sees big rocks being crushed until the diamonds appear. In this mine they once discovered the biggest diamond in the world. The wanted to present this diamond to the queen and decided to mail it, as if this package wasn’t of any value.

De Beers Mine
The diamond mine in Venetia was founded in 1992 and is in complete property of De Beers since 2004. De Beers want to protect the mine as much as they can by handling the mine with great care. Every day they send around 400 people down the mine to look for diamonds. If you are lucky enough to own a diamond, you can be pretty sure that it comes from “De Beers Diamond Mine”.
