Volvo Ocean Race
The Volvo Ocean Race of 2008-2009 will start in Alicante, Spain on the 4th of October 2008. Eight teams will sail in nine months via Cape Town, Kochi, Singapore, Qingdao, around Cape Horn to Rio de Janeiro, Boston, Galway, Goteborg and Stockholm. The teams competing in the Volvo Ocean Race will finish in St. Petersburg, in late June 2009.



Ericsson mobile channel
New this year is the Volvo Ocean Race mobile channel. Ericsson who is also competing in the race with two boats has made it possible to follow the race via your mobile phone. On board of every boat a media crew member will make photos, videos, podcasts, and feature stories.
