T-mobile is going to be the first operator to bring an Android powered mobile phone on the market. Together with HTC and Google will they launch the HTC Dream, better known as the T-Mobile G1. The T-Mobile G1 is a mobile phone based on Google’s open source Android operating system.

The mobile phone from HTC, called the T-mobile G1, combines full touch-screen functionality, a QWERTY keyboard and a trackball for navigation. Via T-Mobile’s 3G, EDGE network and Wi-fi you’ll have access to everything on the mobile Web. This includes popular applications like Google Maps Street View, Gmail, YouTube, Amazon MP3 and the totally new Android Market.

On the Apple iPhone you can make use of the iTunes App Store. For new applications on your T-Mobile G1 you’ll have access to Android Market. Here you can find and download a wide range of unique software applications.

T-Mobile G1 Release

The T-Mobile G1 will be available in the US on the 22th of October. In the UK in the beginning of November and the rest of Europe has to wait for the T-Mobile G1 until the first quarter of 2009.
