Heidi Klum (1972) was born in Bergische Gladbach, Germany. She was still in school when a friend encouraged her to participate in a modeling contest. Initially Heidi was not sure. Later she decided to enter the contest. 250.000 girls participated. Heidi won. She appeared on the cover of Petrol and was offered a three year 300,000 dollar contract. Heidi turned down the offer and finished school.

After graduating, Heidi decided to pursue a modeling career anyways. After a few modeling jobs here and there, her career really took off. In 1997 she did her first shoots for Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated. She is now especially known for her own tv-show, Project Runway. Heidi Klum is considered to be one of the highest paid supermodels in the world. This year alone she earned an estimated 10 million dollar! Heidi is now married with singer Seal, with whom she has two sons. Heidi already has a child out of a former relationship with Formula 1 boss, Flavio Briatore.
