2nd generation iPhone
After months of speculation Apple finally announced the next generation iPhone. The successor of the last year introduced iPhone is released in 22 countries. The iPhone 3G is slimmer than the current iPhone and will be available in three versions: 8GB (black) en 16GB (black en white). The iPhone 3G has several new and improved functionalities.

GPS
The iPhone 3G is equipped with a GPS-chip with a A-GPS (Assisted GPS) solution. This unique combination finds the closest satellites and more quickly identifies your position and gives you a faster fix on your location than with regular GPS. In addition to A-GPS, iPhone 3G uses signals from GPS satellites, Wi-Fi hot spots, and cellular towers to get the most accurate location fast.

Fast internet
One of the most complained things about the first iPhone was the lack of supporting fast internet protocols. It only supported the relative slow GPRS andEDGE. The iPhone 3G uses HSDPA to download data fast over UMTS networks. So email attachments and web pages load twice as fast. 3G networks also enable simultaneous data and voice, so you can talk on the phone while surfing the web or checking email.
