The Modu Concept
A brand-new Israelian producer in mobile-phone-land named Modu launched the world’s smallest mobile phone. The Modu phone itself might be small, the plans of Modu are not!

The Modu phone itself is fairly basic. It can of course be used to make calls. The Modu has 1 GB of memory to store for instance MP3-files. Another advantage is that the Modu phone has an onboard USB-connector, allowing you to connect, transfer files and charge almost anywhere. But there is more.

Modular design
Many producers aim to put as many features into your phone as possible. Modu has a different approach. Rather than fitting an okay camera into your Modu phone, Modu makes your phone fit into a very good camera, MP3-player or PDA. Modu likes to call these modules ‘Modu mates’. Each mate is meant for a specific task.

A mate for every occasion

The idea behind the Modu is simple. A small and ultra-portable phone for daily usage and additional modules (or mates) for every situation. All of these modules make use of the Modu Phone which of course contains your personal preferences and settings for each device.

Whether the Modu products will become a success is yet to be seen. For those of you that can’t wait to get your hands on one, the estimated release date is the 1st of October 2008. So far the Modu will only be sold in Russia, Israel and Italy.
