Nike Collection
In August thousands of sportsmen and woman out of 205 countries will come together in Beijing for the Olympic Games of 2008. To practice their sports and be the best, all these athletes need the right sports gear. One of the major suppliers is the American sport equipment manufacturer Nike. Recently Nike presented a whole new line of shoes, the Flywire collection.

Nike Flywire design
The Nike Flywire collection is set to debut at the Bejing Olympics. For optimal performance Nike introduced some new materials and design techniques. The Flywire design is based on suspensions bridges. The main load-bearing elements are hung from suspension cables. The cables in the shoes are Vectran fibre wires. This material is also used by NASA in space suit designs and in the airbags of the Mars Pathfinder. Resulting into a ultra light and strong sneaker.
