The by EA developed Dead Space is a third-person action game. At first instance Dead space might seem as a shooter but in fact really is a sci-fi survival horror genre. Not in some mystical foggy town but on board of a spaceship.
Dead Space plot
In Dead Space, players step into the role of engineer Isaac Clarke. After having received a distress call from the USG Ishimura he and two colleagues are send out to inspect the spaceship. On board of the stricken spaceship you’ll discover that the ship has been taken over by parasites called the Necromorphs.
Action
Combat in the game is complicated by the fact that Necromorphs are not simply rendered dead. The player must find and exploit specific weak points that differ for each type of parasite. Weapons in the game are mostly improvised, and consist of an array of bolt cutters, stasis guns and energy weapons.
