Royal Caribbean raises the bar with the announcement of its newest ship, Oasis of the Seas. Scheduled to be launched in late 2009, Oasis of the Seas will by far be the world’s largest and most revolutionary ship ever build. The Oasis of the Seas has an incredible length of 1.181 feet, encompasses 220.000 gross registered tons and is able to carry 5.400 passengers. Total cost of the Oasis of the Seas is estimated around 1.2 billion.
Neighbourhood concept
The Oasis of the Seas has a couple of never seen before features like loft suites, an amphitheatre with poolside performances, zip-lining and a carousel. The Oasis of the Seas has a unique neighbourhood concept. There are seven areas of the ship that will provide the passengers with the opportunity to seek out experiences based on personal style, preference or mood.
Boardwalk neighbourhood
The Boardwalk neighbourhood will be an area for the entire family to enjoy together. The elements of the Boardwalk will be a dynamic way to engage families in classic fun with a colorful original carousel as well as eateries, retail outlets and carnival games. The AquaTheater, a remarkable outdoor venue at the stern, is also located in the Boardwalk neighbourhood.
Central Park neighbourhood
Royal Caribbean brings the best of the land to sea with Central Park. In this revolutionary design the center of the ship opens to the sky. Central Park features tropical grounds spanning more than the length of a football field. Central Park will be the ultimate public gathering place with serene pathways, seasonal flower gardens and canopy trees.
