Samsung i900 Omnia
Launching a new model close to the release date of a new Apple Product is always tricky. Samsung decided not to wait and officially released its latest model, the i900, just before the iPhone 3G. As a result the phone maybe didn’t get the attention it deserves. The i900 is light-weight phone, only 12,5 mm thin and still holds either 8 or 16GB of memory. A nice achievement, that’s for sure. And if 16 GB isn’t enough for you, simply insert a 4 GB Micro-SD card to solve your storage problem.

Tilt from landscape to portrait

Just like the iPhone 3G, the i900 is equipped with GPS and holds an accelerometer. What’s that? Well, the accelerometer allows you to tilt your i900. Simultaneously the i900 rotates everything on your display from landscape to portrait and back. The i900 support WiFi, UMTS, and HSDPA.

The perfect picture
Still in favor of the latest iPhone? How about a built-in 5 megapixel camera? It even has face-recognition and allows you to take panorama pictures. The 3.2 inch WideQVGA display is perfect for viewing your pictures. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.

Radio and DivX
Prefer to listen to your favorite radio channel instead of your MP3-collection? The i900 not only has an onboard radio, but it also supports A2DP, allowing you to listen to any radio channel wirelessly via your Bluetooth headset. Even skipping tracks and changing the volume can be done directly from your headset. Last but not least, the i900 is the first Windows Mobile device that is DivX Certified. Viewing videos in high-quality DivX format is now possible.

Every operator
The i900 is a very good alternative to the overpriced iPhone. And you are not limited to only one operator per country. The i900 will be available from September on.
