It seems almost impossible to be notable in the full market of navigation systems.

The manufacturers really have to distinguish themselves from others to survive in this market. Harmon Kandon put a lot of efforts in their new GPS 500 navigation system.

The Harman Kardon GPS500 promises to integrate navigation and multimedia applications seamlessly. Users can enjoy their content and view vital info on the 4-inch widescreen WQVGA LCD display. The device includes mini SD card support up to a 4GB capacity and supports MP3, MP4, WMA, ASF, WAV and OGG. One also comes across a USB 2.0 high-speed interface and a battery which has max life of 5 hours.

The GPS500 provides a number of options for specifying your destination - from entering a street address to a full postcode search. You can also specify a city centre, road intersection or points of interest - such as restaurants, museums or petrol stations. You can save locations to a list of favorites, providing quick access to places you visit frequently - although you have to do this by entering the address manually, you can't just point to places on the map.
