The Tesla Roadster, the first high performance electric sports car, was shown at the Blaupunkt booth at the CES 2008 in Las Vegas. The development team at Tesla Motors has been working with Blaupunkt's engineering staff for the past two years to optimize the audio systems for use in an electric vehicle. The all-electric Tesla is a two-seat 245 horsepower roadster that can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 125 mph. The 100,000-mile life lithium battery can be charged in 3.5 hours off house current, and has a range of about 245 miles on one charge.
